Hello, again!
Yeah, I know it’s been nearly a month. No excuses, but I’ll provide an update:
(1) I am trying to settle into my new house, while prepping Dad’s house for sale. This is a lot freakin’ harder than one would think, trust me. Especially when your parents had hoarding tendencies. (No matter how much I throw out, there’s always more).
(2) Good news: have agreed in principle to sell part of Dad’s farm to the city of Berea, KY, so they can build a road. This is a relief, as it will allow me to pay Dad’s bills until I can get him on Medicaid.
Bad news: the city’s attorneys apparently have much better things to do than draw up the damn contract, which I have been waiting on for nearly a month. I’m running out of money, and frankly it’s scaring the shit out of me.
(3) My local science fiction convention, Conglomeration, is in the process of starting up again. I’m on the ConComm as Volunteer Coordinator (yes, I’m a SMoF), and am working to get local fandom involved, as well as smoothing over hard feelings from the fact that we had to cancel last year.
(4) I’ve been fighting an upper respiratory infection all this week, and probably had it about three weeks ago, too.
Anyway, that’s the latest. There’s things I really want to post on, but Life Events are taking precedence.
